NICK MACSHANE / FOUNDING PARTNER
Nick is the founder and a Senior Managing Director of Progress Partners and a founder of Progress Ventures. He is a proven corporate finance executive and with 20 years experience working with early stage companies in business strategy and development. Nick is a leader in the investment community and has an extensive network of senior-level relationships in media, advertising, and marketing. He has significant transaction experience and has closed numerous digital media deals, including the sale of Going.com to AOL, Dotbox to MDC Partners, and financings for Tremor Media, Media6Degrees, ContextWeb, and MediaMath.
Prior to founding Progress Partners, Nick served in senior marketing and product development roles at Virtual Access Networks, MyWay.com (CMGi) and Scotia Pharmaceuticals, a British conglomerate. In New York, Nick ran an events-planning and non-profit fund raising firm called Diana Beattie Events. He started his career in New York City Mayoral politics, and founded and ran the New York State chapter of the Democratic Leadership Forum.
Nick currently holds investments in 20 early stage companies through his own investments and through TWG Media Funds and Progress Ventures. He is a Government and History graduate of Skidmore College and has served on the screening committee of Launchpad Venture Group. Nick enjoys biking, sailing, and participating as an enthusiastic fan at his son’s lacrosse games and his daughters’ flute and dance recitals.
